On our 25th anniversary of Light Up a Life, thank you! Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your overwhelming generosity.
Because of you, this year’s Light Up a Life will be the best yet.
My name is Ann, and perhaps like yourself, I am a long-time supporter of our beloved Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice. I would like you today to join me in a cause that embodies the spirit of love and remembrance by donating in memory of a loved one you have lost.
Within loss, there is an opportunity to create a legacy of love and support. I have had the privilege to witness how Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw, Cumbria’s
Children’s Hospice has cared for so many families over the years and it fills me with immense joy and pride to be part of something so wonderful.
My support for the hospice started back in 1987 when I was present at the first ever meeting to help establish Eden Valley Hospice. The goal was to create a special place in the local community that could provide compassionate and dignified care to adults and children in Cumbria.
When I was younger, I nursed my own father who was terminally ill, and I vividly remember that we really struggled without the support that a hospice provides. This is why I wanted to help set up a hospice in Carlisle, and why it still holds such special meaning to me now.
"Together we have made this happen"
Since 1987 we have seen so many updates and improvements to the hospice, including the crucial addition of the children’s hospice in 1998 and rebrand to ‘Jigsaw’ in 2014. The number of staff has increased dramatically as well as the level of expertise and quality of care always progressing. Today, the hospice is highly regarded as a specialist organisation in palliative care.
Together we have made this happen.
However, this care does come at a cost. Your generous support ensures the memory of your loved one lives on and Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice can continue to offer its invaluable services for years to come. I hope you will join me in continuing to support our beloved hospice on this special 25th Anniversary of Light up a Life.
With heartfelt thanks,
Ann
