Leave a gift in your Will - Eden Valley Hospice
Skip to content

1 in 4 patients are cared for thanks to gifts left in Wills.

Your Will is a chance to look after the people you love and shape the future you want to leave behind.

Times may change, but the need for compassionate hospice care will remain. Your hospice has been here for local families for over 35 years; your gift will ensure it’s here for the next 35 years and beyond, providing care, comfort and support to those who need it.

Leaving a gift is simple…

Step One
Think about those closest to you and who you wish to support.
You can leave anything from a treasured personal item, a sum of cash, your home, % of your worth or pension, or stocks and shares.
Step Two

Contact your solicitor.

If you don’t have one, you can find a local solicitor here www.lawsociety.org.uk (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or www.lawscot.org.uk (Scotland).

Step Three

If you would like to leave a gift to Eden Valley Hospice, please make sure that your solicitor uses our full name, address and charity number in your Will.

Eden Valley Hospice
Durdar Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA2 4SD
Registered Charity Number: 1008796

Step Four

You don’t have to tell us about your gift, but if you choose to, we can thank you and keep you updated.

Thank you for securing the future of your hospice.

Real Stories, Real Impact

Why your gift matters

“It’s impossible to put a price on hospice care. That’s one of the reasons Lynn and I decided to leave a gift in our Wills to Eden Valley… Any of us might need this service one day – for ourselves or a loved one. It needs to be protected.”

Michael left a gift in his Will, in memory of his wife Lynn. Like Michael, you can protect your hospice too by thinking of us in your Will.

Frequently asked questions regarding gifts in Wills

Since 1991, one thing has never changed: the commitment to caring for local people and their families.

The world around us may change, and hospice care may evolve, but patients and families will always need compassion, comfort and support.

For a patient, your gift could mean relieving pain. For a family, it could mean support through some of their most difficult days. For someone navigating bereavement, it could mean having somewhere to turn and knowing they don’t have to face their grief alone.

A gift in your Will can help protect that care for the future. It’s as simple as that.

A Will gives you the freedom to decide what happens to the things that matter to you and who you want to provide for. Without one, your wishes may not be carried out as you intended.

Having your wishes clearly laid out can bring reassurance to the people you love, making difficult decisions a little easier at what may already be a difficult time.

Contact your solicitor.

We offer an annual Make A Will Month in April, where you can write your Will with a partnering solicitor. Your donation will go directly to the hospice, and you don’t have to leave a gift if you don’t wish to.

If you don’t have a solicitor one, you can find a local solicitor here www.lawsociety.org.uk (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or www.lawscot.org.uk (Scotland).

It is very important to keep your Will up to date.

You should review your Will every five years to make sure that it still reflects your wishes, and after any major change in your life.

Contact your solicitor and give them the following details:
