Drink in the beauty of the Lake District as it wakes to the world with the return of our popular Stars to Sunrise walk.
We’re inviting you to take part in this magical event giving you the opportunity to experience the sunrise from atop Helvellyn in the Lake District, while raising vital funds to support local families.
This year, there will be a choice of two routes depending on the challenge level you want to experience.
Starting at Patterdale School in the early hours of Sunday 29th September, you’ll scale the mountain under the stars to reach the summit for sunrise, before returning to base for a well-earned bit of breakfast.
This is in conjunction with Lakeland Mountain Guides and the walk will be fully guided by their experts making it accessible for most physically fit walkers. The two routes to choose from are.
- Route 1- HELVELLYN VIA KEPPEL COVE & WHITE SIDE Miles – 12 Peaks – 3
One of ‘Britain’s best walks’ this route will gently rise on good paths and is the most accessible route to the summit. However at 12 miles, this route will still be a challenge for most.
- Route 2 (challenging)- HELVELLYN VIA SWIRRAL EDGE Miles – 10 Peaks – 3
This more challenging route will ascent more steeply, culminating in the scramble across the ridge of Swirral edge, returning with the rest of the group via White Side and Keppel Cove.
Whatever your reason for reason for taking part; whether you wish to try something new, challenge yourself or walk in memory of your loved ones, please join us on Sunday 29th September and help to raise vital funds for your local hospice.
