Volunteers are an essential part of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice. Whether Fundraising, Retail or in the hospice itself, volunteers are a part of everything that we do.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team, ensuring that the hospice continues to provide the best level of care to patients and their families.
Update 15.09.2020 - We have taken the decision to temporarily suspend Student Placements, Works Experience and the Young Volunteer Programme at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. We really enjoy welcoming local students from the three programmes, but due to the current restrictions we will be unable to offer students our usual standard of placement whilst at the hospice.
We want to ensure that any students attending work placement receive the best possible experience for both themselves and the hospice, which is why we have made this decision. We will be reviewing our decision in January 2021 and will provide an update then.
Please Note: During the Coronavirus situation we are placing new volunteers on a waiting list for when new opportunities emerge in this fast changing situation. Our shops are beginning to re-open which is creating new volunteering opportunities, but volunteering in other areas of the hospice is currently on hold as we put plans in place for onece life returns to normal. If you would like to volunteer, now or in the future, we would love to hear from you, simply complete our Interested in Volunteering Form and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you can also view the roles we will be looking for support for in the future here.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
