We are still here...
- Tuesday, 07 April 2020
As key workers, both our clinical and support staff teams are still here for our community.
We’re still doing all we can during these times to continue to provide care to those in need, whilst following strict guidelines.
The hospice is open and we are continuing to provide care and compassion to local people with life limiting illnesses. We are still here for our community, still supporting the NHS and the bank holiday weekend will have no effect on staffing levels or admissions.
We want to reassure our supporters and the local community that:
- The hospice is still open and caring for patients on the on the Adult In-Patient Unit and staffing levels have been unaffected. Although Jigsaw is closed at the moment, we will provide end of life care to children and young adults on the Adult In-Patient Unit
- The Easter Bank Holiday weekend will not affect our care services. We are supporting our NHS partners and colleagues by introducing out of hours admissions. We are in daily contact with North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) to facilitate rapid discharge if needed.
- We have instigated a wide range of support to ensure that we work closely with our local NHS providers, NCIC, to meet the needs of our community during the coronavirus crisis and release bed capacity within NCIC.
