Team Halifax prepare for fundraising walk

This summer a team of fundraisers from Halifax in Carlisle will be completing a memorable Lake District challenge to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

A team of 15 colleagues, plus family and friends, will be taking part in the walk to the summit of Skiddaw. The walk will be special for the group of fundraisers as they enjoy the spectacular views and raise money in aid of the local charity.

Andrew Brown, from the Halifax Carlisle Branch, explained,

"Our branch has supported Eden Valley Hospice for quite a while now. The hospice plays such a vital and positive role in our community, our colleagues are really passionate about helping whenever we can. We normally raise funds by running cake sales or raffles, but we thought we would stretch ourselves a little further this time.

“We chose to climb Skiddaw as it is hard enough to be a challenge but not so hard to prevent everyone taking part. Our colleagues, friends and families will be taking part so it should be a really fun day and we’re hoping to attract lots of sponsorship.”

The money raised by Team Halifax during their Skiddaw Climb Challenge will help the local charity to provide care, support and activities to local people with life limiting illnesses. This care and compassion are extended to all the patients’ families, friends and carers.
