Local hospice looking for feedback during Carers Week 2019

Are you helping to look after somebody with a life limiting or palliative illness? What would help you?

During Carers Week Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice are looking for ideas, opinions and help from the local community to help shape the care and support they provide to carers. This week and over the coming months, the Carlisle based charity are encouraging carers and people who look after family and friends to get in touch to help create and develop the charity’s Carer Support Group.

The hospice are looking at ways to develop a new programme to ensure they meet the needs of people who support and care for family and friends. Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw would like the community to get in touch and share ideas about information and support they need when caring for somebody.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities through the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much needed support.

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw are now encouraging people to contact the hospice to be involved with helping to shape the Carers Support Group for the future. If you would like to be involved and provide your feedback please contact the charity’s Family Support Team on 01228 810801 or care@edenvalleyhospice.org
