Living Well Services

Live life in the best way you can with what you have left

Our Living Well Hub is here to support you whether you are bereaved or have received a diagnosis that will shorten your life, a family member, a friend or a carer’s. We are committed to supporting you and those around you, in a variety of ways.

Living well with a neuro degenerative condition

Working with colleagues from MNDA, MS Services, Huntingtons and Parkinsons support groups we will be running a 6 week programme over 3 months with sessions dedicated to supporting people to live well, connect with others and learn skills to help them manage their condition more confidently.

This requires referral from a health profession with triage supporting those most in need.

Living with bereavement

We hold a number of events out in the local community each week for those who are living with bereavement.

Our Walk and Talk Group is held fortnightly rotating between Chances Park in Morton, Carlisle and Hammond’s Pond, Carlisle. There is no referral needed just come and have a walk with the option of a cuppa at the end.

Our Comfort Cafes are held fortnightly rotating between Brampton and Wigton there is no need for referral, just join us for a cuppa and a chat and meet people who know how you are feeling.

Book a talk

If your group meets regularly and wants to learn more about hospice care, consider booking a hospice myth-busting session.

For condition-specific groups, our clinical experts can join your session to discuss key topics in end-of-life care, including:

  • Pain management
  • Breathlessness
  • Nutrition and managing nausea
  • Anticipatory grief

Supporting babies, children, young people and their families

Our Jigsaw Team offer support including:

  • Baby and toddler group held monthly at Jigsaw – for pre-school age children with life-limiting illnesses or complex medical health needs.
  • Saturday Club held every other month at Jigsaw – for over 16s with a life shortening condition.
  • And lots more…
