Statement on hospice funding announcement

We are really very pleased to hear that the Children’s Hospice Grant has been confirmed for next year (2025-26). This grant is a key part of sustaining our services at Jigsaw Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice and means we can plan for the year ahead.

We are delighted that the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Wes Streeting recognises the importance of hospice care for both our communities and our health and care system.

We welcome the announcement of £100 million for all hospices in England – around 180 hospices – to support capital works to improve the hospice environment.

We know that hospice care is valued by the government and look forward to understanding what this means for us here at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw and to working for a more sustainable funding approach for all hospices in the future.
