Neil and Julie Wallace
While Julie was quickly approaching the end of her life, a dying wish was to marry her partner of almost 30 years, Neil. Surrounded by their two daughters, loving family and close friends, they tied the knot in Eden Valley Hospice while Julie was being cared for.

For John Barrett, losing his wife of 28 years Josie to cancer was devastating, but he can take comfort in knowing the end of her life was spent in Eden Valley Hospice being cared for by the dedicated and compassionate staff.

Graham and Val Mattock
Retired police officer Val Mattock dedicated herself to looking after her community, her family and her beloved dogs, but when she needed care at the end of her life, it was Eden Valley Hospice who could be there for her and husband Graham at the time when they needed it most.

Shirley – Day Services
Shirley, who’s 93 and lives near Carlisle, has terminal bowel cancer and attends Eden Valley Hospice’s Day Services regularly to help manage her symptoms and speak with our expert clinical team.

Margaret Duffell
In 2017 Brian Duffell spent his final days in the hospice and his wife Margaret and the rest of the family were blown away by the care, support and friendliness they were shown by all the Eden Valley Hospice team. Brian’s stay in the hospice allowed Margaret, family and friends to make memories that will last for the rest of their lives.
