At Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, we are looking for dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our caring and supportive clinical team, helping to deliver high-quality care to adults with life-limiting conditions.

About the Role

Working as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team and under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, on our adult inpatient unit and you will:

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care
  • Support patients with complex health needs in a safe, comfortable, and homely environment
  • Build meaningful relationships with patients and families, offering empathy and reassurance
  • Assist with a range of clinical and supportive tasks to enhance patient wellbeing and experience

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have experience working in a healthcare or care setting
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Kind, compassionate, and respectful in their approach
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Are motivated to learn and develop new skills, including specialist clinical competencies
  • Can work flexibly across 12-hour shifts, including weekends

Experience in palliative or complex care is desirable but not essential.

Position: Healthcare Assistant (Hospice Grade 3)

Hours: Full (36 hours) and part-time positions available, with the regular opportunity for additional shifts if desired

Permanent

Salary: £25,417.00 FTE p.a. with opportinuty for pay progression up to £27,033.07 FTE p.a, subject to competencies and performance. (Plus shift enhancements)

*FTE based on Hospice FTE of 37.5 hours per week
