Wendy Round was appointed as a Trustee of Eden Valley Hospice in April 2026, motivated by a deep personal connection to the organisation and a desire to give something back. Following the compassionate treatment and care her father received in his final days – and the ongoing support she and her family have felt since – Wendy is committed to helping ensure that others across Cumbria can experience the same kindness, dignity and comfort when they need it most. Joining the Board is both an honour and a meaningful way to support the hospice that played such an important role in her family’s life.
Wendy brings extensive experience in finance, governance, pensions and compliance, having spent much of her career supporting trustee boards to navigate complex legislation and regulatory frameworks. Her focus has consistently been on streamlining processes so that trustees can concentrate on what matters most, confident that their statutory and strategic responsibilities are being met. She hopes to bring this same clarity and forward‑looking approach to Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, contributing to its long‑term sustainability and helping it meet the growing needs of the local community.
