Calling all local businesses!

Every elf makes a difference!

Pick a date in December to become a team of elves and help deliver care, compassion and support to local families! Take your fundraising one step further and complete elf challenges to raise even more and become the best elf workshop in Cumbria…

Could your business join the Cumbrian Elf Workforce?

Looking for something fun, shareable and competitive?

It’s time to shake up your usual festive fundraising and take on The Elf Challenge!

Wain Wright, Cumbria’s Area Manager for Elf Operations, will be supporting you and your team throughout the challenge, keeping you on track, setting your tasks and helping you climb the ranks of the Cumbrian Elf Workforce.

1. Pick your December dates

Choose any day in December that works for your workplace and get it in the diary. You can make it a one-day event, or keep the challenges going throughout December.

2. Appoint your Chief Elf

Every good team of elves needs someone in charge! Nominate a Chief Elf to rally the team, organise your challenges, collect donations and keep the festive competition on track.

3. Round up your elves

Invite your colleagues to join the Cumbrian Elf Workforce, with a suggested donation of £5 per elf. Getting involved can be as simple, or as spectacular, as you like. Wear elf ears, pop on an elf hat, add a festive prop, decorate your workspace or go all out in a full elf costume!

4. Take on the Elf Challenges

Use your Elf Challenge Pack to choose from Wain’s challenges or invent some of your own. You set your own fundraising target and decide how big of a challenge you wish to set your team.

5. Add a little friendly competition

You can take it one step further and compete against other departments in your organisation, or even other organisations across Cumbria! We’ll give you an elf thermometer so you can keep track of the funds raise, whichever team raises the most will be crowned ‘Wain’s Merriest Marras Workshop’ the highest Cumbrian Elf award!

6. Share your elf mischief!

Don’t keep the elf antics to yourselves! Take plenty of photos, share your challenges and celebrate how much you’ve raised. We’d love to see the Cumbrian Elf Workforce in action.

7. Have fun!

Every elf ear worn, challenge completed and pound raised will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice provide care, compassion and support to local adults, children and families.

So gather your elves, choose your challenges and let the festive fundraising begin!

How we will support your Elf Challenge:

1. Elf-Approved Fundraising Toolkit

Our elves have packed a festive toolkit full of fundraising ideas, ready-to-use posters, social media badges, challenge materials and practical guidance to help your team spread Christmas cheer and kick-start your fundraising efforts.

2. Your Very Own Chief Elf Contact

You’ll be supported by Emma Rogerson, Partnerships Lead, your dedicated Hospice Chief Elf. Emma will be on hand throughout your fundraising adventure to answer questions, share fundraising tips, provide festive inspiration and help you make the most of every opportunity to raise funds. Whether you need advice, resources or a little Christmas cheer, your Chief Elf is here to help your team achieve its fundraising goals.

3. We’ll Help Spread the Word

We’ll champion your fundraising efforts through our social media channels, website and supporter communications where possible, helping to boost awareness, celebrate your activities and showcase your commitment to the community.

4. Magical Impact Updates

Our elves will share heartwarming stories and real examples of how your fundraising supports local children and families. These updates help your team see the difference they’re making and keep everyone motivated on their mission.

5. A Celebration Worthy of Santa’s Nice List

When your challenge is complete, we’ll help celebrate your success with thank-you certificates, social media shout-outs and opportunities to share your fundraising story with our supporters. Every elf deserves recognition for a job well done!

Together, we’ll make your workplace fundraising fun, festive and full of impact, with plenty of support from the hospice every step of the way.
