Waddling Penguins and The Messy Messy’s prepare for hospice Colour Run

This weekend two teams of fundraisers will be showering themselves in a rainbow of powdered paint and thousands of bubbles during a local hospice’s Colour Run event.

On Sunday 12 May the Waddling Penguins and The Messy Messy’s will be joined by a sea of other fundraisers on the start line at Carlisle Racecourse for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice’s annual Carlisle Colour Run.

Team Waddling Penguins said,

“We have chosen to support Eden Valley Hospice as it is a fantastic local resource providing first class care and support.

“We done the Colour Run as a family the first year it launched and loved it and since then we haven’t been available to partake but this year we set aside the date early. The pre-run atmosphere is brilliant and this year we have friends joining us too.”

The local charity’s Colour Run is the perfect event for all the family as it is not about setting the fastest time, it is about having fun. Whether you run, walk, dance or conga around the 5km route, which is twice around the racecourse, you can help the hospice make a different in the local community.

During the event fundraisers will be transformed from a blank canvas in a white t-shirt into a rainbow of colour and bubbles as they pass through the powder paint and foam stations.

Team Waddling Penguin continued,

“We are most looking forward to the foam stations and covering one another in paint! We ae not looking forward to running, well there won’t be much of that happening just a fast walking pace.”

The money raised by the Waddling Penguins and all the fundraisers at the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Colour Run will help the local charity to provide the highest standards of care, support and activities to children and young adults with life limiting illnesses.
