Businesses back hospice Colour Run

Every May since 2015 thousands of local people have showered themselves in a rainbow of powdered paint and thousands of bubbles at the hospice’s annual Colour Run.

Along with all the fundraisers, a host of local businesses have helped to make the event a huge success. These include the Cumberland Building Society, Carlisle Brass and Lloyd MINI who have sponsored the event every year.

Becky Towns, Community & Events Co-ordinator from The Cumberland said:

“As a local business we’re keen to support organisations that make a real difference to our local communities and we’re extremely proud to have been a supporter of Eden Valley Hospice’s Colour Run since the event began over four years ago.

“We’ve been lucky enough to see first hand, the huge difference the team at the hospice make on a day to day basis to individuals and families from across the City and surrounding area. For us, it’s a favourite event in our calendar, as it not only offers a friendly and memorable challenge, but most importantly, helps raise a lot of money to support the great work the hospice does.”

Carlisle Brass Marketing Manager, Lucia Dickinson, said

“Team Carlisle Brass has been deeply connected to Eden Valley Hospice for a number of years. The organisation delivers excellent care in the most devastating moments of people’s lives. Many of our colleagues needed the charity’s practical and emotional support, when saying goodbye to family members and friends. Knowing that they spent their last moments in a loving and caring environment provided a great comfort to all who are left behind.

“We are very proud to be participating in this event. It is a great day out for the whole family. The kids have a laugh and the adults become kids for a day. You never have to ask us twice to support Eden Valley Hospice.

Brian Twentyman, Brand Manager at Lloyd Carlisle MINI said:

“We were delighted to support the Eden Valley Hospice Colour Run in May for the fourth year running. The Hospice is an invaluable organisation available to our local community and it’s great to be part of raising funds to help support it. The event is great fun for all ages, and our team loves to get involved too.”

By sponsoring the event, not only are all the local businesses helping to create a kaleidoscopic day of fundraising they are also supporting our team of specialist nurses and doctors care for local adults and children with life limiting illnesses.
