Eden Valley Hospice is a forward-thinking, compassionate provider of specialist palliative and end-of-life care. We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team.
Based in Carlisle, we have a 10-bed inpatient unit, day hospice and children’s hospice. We work collaboratively across the county with strong links to other care providers.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating person-centred and evidence-based palliative care for patients, families and carers. Due to excellent staff to patient ratios, you will have time to care for and build relationships with patients and their families.
The hospice’s vision is to provide excellence in specialist palliative care and to ensure patients receive consistently high standards of care in all care settings within the organisation.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary team, responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of holistic and evidence-based palliative care to patients and their families.
Thanks to our excellent staff-to-patient ratios, you will have the time to truly connect with those in your care, building supportive relationships with patients and their families.
You’ll be part of an environment that values reflection, continuous learning and personal development. We provide regular clinical supervision and ongoing training opportunities to help you grow both professionally and personally.
Shift Information
Our preference would be for the post holder to work various shifts (12 hours) on rotation between days, nights and weekends.
- Day Shift: 7:30am-8:00pm
- Night Shift: 7:30pm-8:00am
What We Offer
We offer some great benefits including generous shift enhancements, free on-site parking, access to our Employee Assistance Programme and for eligible employees, the opportunity to remain in the NHS pension scheme. We also offer a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful impact, and a dynamic, supportive, and creative work environment.
Our clinical teams are at the heart of everything we do. We appreciate that, as a charity, we may appear to be a less stable option than other healthcare employers. Whilst we can never be complacent about the scale of the fundraising challenge that we continually face, the success of our income generation efforts and our prudent approach to managing our resources will ensure that we remain financially secure.
