Compliance

Hospice care is heavily regulated and understanding others’ experience can help us to better prepare for future audits, reviews and inspections.

In December 2024 Eddie Hoult a social care consultant with UpEd visited the hospice to view the premises and our processes and provided some improvement feedback.

In November 2022 Gavin Slater and Rhia Heron from North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust shared their experiences of inspection.

Design work

We have recently refreshed our logo. We were prompted to do this as part of our Jigsaw refurbishment. Our new logos are bright, warm and clear with improved accessibility. This work was done by Carlisle designer Anthony Ferguson who volunteered his design skills for free.

Supporting

In August 2023 Broadcaster Val Armstrong joined us as an ambassador for the hospice. She has hosted events and shared her experiences in the public eye with our volunteers at the annual thank you event.

Improvements

In January 2023 Nick Jackson from the North of England Commissioning Support Unit volunteered his time to support us to think through future outreach offers.

Coaching

Centrica performance improvement manager, Jonny Latta, has supported us with practical support with British Gas team days. He has also offered one to one coaching sessions for some of our team leads to help develop their leadership skills.
