Role Summary
Our Bereavement Support team provides vital support and comfort to adults navigating loss in a variety of ways. Our volunteers offer one to one counselling sessions at the hospice, online and on the telephone. Volunteers also support our community groups. We hold two Comfort Cafes and two Walk and Talk groups every month.
Comprised of trained and supervised staff and volunteers, the team offers compassionate pre and post bereavement support to adults and their families across the whole of Cumbria, not just to those individuals know to the Hospice. Ā This includes the support of individuals in the wider community who have experienced bereavement at home or in hospital.
Referrals to the Counselling & Bereavement Support Team (CBST) can be made by a professional with the individual’s consent, and we also welcome self-referrals. Ā
