Fundraising in the community

We are proud to be able to say we have a mixture of wonderful fundraising events that others are undertaking to ensure we can continue to provide compassionate care to families.

Upcoming events held in aid of us…

24th – 26th October – Carlisle Beer Festival

Weā€™re thrilled that the Carlisle Beer Festival will kindly be supporting Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw again this year!

The popular festival has supported us heavily in the past and weā€™re so grateful that this partnership will be continuing later this year.

The beer festival will take place from the 24th to 26th October at the Station Hotel. Make sure to attend and support your local hospice whilst doing so.

26th October 2024 – Afternoon tea party in memory of Fiona Sim

Youā€™re invited to an afternoon tea party in memory of Fiona Sim and in aid of your local hospice.

Organised by Fionaā€™s family the tea party will take place at Penrith Cricket Club on Saturday 26th October from 2pm.

There will be tea, treats and more with all the money raised kindly being donated to the hospice to help those who need our compassionate care most.

1st November – Sultans of the Source and Loose Cargo

A night of live blues, soul and rock and roll all in aid of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.

Taking place on Friday 1st November with doors opening at 7:30pm and live music starting at 8:00pm.

9th November 2024 – Tinsel and Tarot

Join some of our amazing fundraisers at Penrith Cricket Club on Saturday, 9th November, from 10:30am ā€“ 4pm for a magical day of shopping and fundraising in memory of Lawson.

Theyā€™ve got something for everyone, including: Tarot readings, wellbeing & Christmas gifts, cakes, fudge, and more! Tombola and luxury raffle with amazing prizes.

All proceeds will go directly to us here at Jigsaw, Cumbriaā€™s Childrenā€™s Hospice, for which we are so grateful.

1st December – Carlisle Santa Dash

The Carlisle Santa Dash returns this year on Sunday 1st December, and weā€™re delighted that all profits will once again be donated to us here at Jigsaw.

Take your pick from the 5k Santa Dash or the 2K Santa Fun Run/Walk.

The popular event has raised over Ā£55,000 for Cumbriaā€™s only childrenā€™s hospice and weā€™re delighted that more much needed funds will be donated in 2024 from the kind folk at Sport in Action.

13th December 2024 – Netherby Hall Carol Concert

Join Netherby Hall on Friday 13th December for their carol concert.

Carols will be performed by Stanwix Choir of Kirkandrews Church with profits coming to us here at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.

Doors open at 6:30pm with the concert starting at 7:00pm.

14th December 2024 – Carlisle Skate Jam

A skate jam meet with all funds being kindly donated to Jigsaw.

Held at Carlisle Skatepark, CA2 5SH, the action will kick off at 12pm and will be free entry.

There will be a raffle costing Ā£2 a strip.

15th, 16th and 17th October – Clothes Collection @ Lakeland Gate

We are offering a hassle-free way of recycling and getting rid of unwanted clothing. Whether itā€™s your own clothes or your children’s we will be collecting good quality garments on our retail van.

This will be taking place on the 15th, 16th and 17th October at Play at Lakeland Gate.

19th October 2024 – Jumble Sale

Join us this Saturday, 19th October at Botcherby Community Centre, Carlisle for a fantastic jumble sale in aid of your local hospice!

Grab a bargain from a variety of items donated to our hospice shops, and support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw in the process.
There will also be refreshments provided to keep you fuelled while you shop!
All clothes ,shoes, DVDs and books will be Ā£1 each ! We will also be selling last years Christmas cards at a discounted price. Items from Marks & Spencer, New Look, Gap, Pringle and some hidden designer gems to be found!
Location: Held at and supported by Botcherby Community Centre
20th October, 17th November, 15th December – Allonby Farmers Market

We will be attending Allonby Farmers Market on these three dates selling a range of donated goods, cards, calendars and diaries.

The market will take place at Spring Lea Holiday Centre from 11am until 2pm.

We hope to see you there.

2nd November 2024 – Taste Cumbria: Carlisle Market

We will be in attendance with a stall selling lot of exciting new goods.

New for 2024, there will be a Taste Cumbria market in the heart of Carlisle to coincide with the city’s fabulous Fireshow weekend. Eat, drink and shop, and watch the fireworks in Bitts Park on the Saturday night.

We will be in attendance on November 2nd from 10:00 – 18:00.

We will have a stall at our Light up a Life service held at the hospice on Durdar Road on Sunday 24th November from 4:30pm.

We will be selling lots of exciting new goods.

5th December – Norman Street Christmas Fayre

Our stall will be at the Norman Street Christmas Fayre selling new goods.

Held by Norman Street School PTA and taking place on 5th of December 2024 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

6th December – Light up a Life – Carlisle Cathedral

We will have a stall at our Light up a Life service held at Carlisle Cathedral on Friday 6th December from 7:30pm.

We will be selling lots of exciting new goods.

7th December – Carlisle Market Hall

We will be in the Market Hall on Saturday 7th December, selling lots of brand new goods.

7th December – Carlisle Cathedral Farmers Market

Supporting local artisan producers, crafters and artists Carlisle’s monthly farmers’ market can be found in the grounds of the Cathedral on the Saturday 7th December, from 9am to 2pm.

We will have a stall selling new goods.
