The recent Great Barn Sale at Out of Eden has raised £2,000 to help the care, support and activities provided to local people at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
During the clear out event, the Kirkby Stephen based company, sold their slightly damaged and end of line stock with the money raised being donated to a chosen charity, Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. Lots of 20 pences were also raised with a draw for a garden table and chairs.
Janet Hartley, Founder of Out of Eden, said
“At a time when charities have seen a huge fall in their income we felt that the hospice in particular needed this modest support. It is likely we will all be grateful for the care of the hospice at some time in our lives – for ourselves, family members or friends - so our support at a time like this is vital to keep Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw funded.“
The kind donation from Out of Eden will help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw to provide the highest standards of care, support and activities to local children and adults with life limiting illnesses.
As key workers, both the clinical and support staff teams at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw are here for the local community. The hospice is doing all it can during these times to continue to provide care to those in need, whilst following strict guidelines.
At a time when Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw is still in great need of funding to secure the future of the hospice, the support of the local community is needed now more than ever. Every donation made will help the hospice’s vital care today, tomorrow and for many years to come. To find out more about hosting your own fundraising event in aid of the hospice please click here.
