Our Volunteer Van Drivers and Van Driver Assistants help with stocking deliveries to ensure each store can maximise income to help fund patient care. The roles will include moving and sorting of household items and general moving duties.
Location
Around all of our shop locations; Lonsdale Shop, the Lanes Bookshop, Furniture Shop (Near Dunhelm) Penrith Shop.
Role Summary
A retail driver provides vital support to our shops you will help by collecting items from our generous supporters that are either too big or difficult for them to get to our shops, moving stock between our shops to get donations to the right place, collecting rubbish and recycling that builds up and taking it for disposal. This vital role keeps are shops running, maximising their income to help fund patient care. 
Days and times
Monday to Friday – Morning / Afternoon or full day shifts 9am – 4.30pm 
Role Requirements
To be able to drive our Retail van you will need to have a full clean driving licence and be over 25, some experience driving vans would also be an advantage to drive our large panel van. To be a drivers assistant you will need to be over 18, both roles will require a good standard of health as they involve moving heavy objects such as sofas or heavy bags of clothing. 
Duties and responsibilities
Moving items between the four shops and collecting rubbish and recycling to be disposed of at our main site.
Collecting donated goods from throughout the Cumbrian area and over the border.
Responsible to carrying out the standard vehicle checks before taking the van out.
