What is the Comfort Café?
Our Comfort Café provides a safe, friendly space for bereaved people to meet monthly for a couple of hours on a weekday morning. Our space provides a comfortable and social atmosphere for individuals to connect and enjoy delicious coffee and light refreshments.
Hours
9.45am – 12.45pm the 2nd Thursday of every month.
Role Requirements
A minimum Level 2 Certificate in Counselling skills or equivalent
Friendly and approachable
Good listening and empathy skills
Good communication skills
Good professional boundaries
Ability to work independently and as a team
Training Requirements
On-line mandatory training relevant to the role
Relevant face to face training when required
Duties and Responsibilities
- To attend the Comfort Bereavement Café in Wigton once a month
- Support counsellor to set up chairs, refreshments
- Meet and greet attendees
- Offer a ‘listening ear’ and support to attendees
- Support counsellor to tidy up and debrief following session
- Other tasks where appropriate and within the remit of the role
