Garden of Memories 2022

Garden of Memories 2022

You are invited to support your local hospice by taking part in the annual Garden of Memories appeal and make a real difference at the same time as celebrating the memory of a loved one. The beautiful summer house will be the focal point this year and this peaceful area will be a place where you can reflect and remember in quiet contemplation.

We ask you to join us by donating and writing the names of those you miss and who are still very much part of your life and who hold a place in your cherished memories. We’ll write your dedication on a leaf made of bark which will be hung by a ribbon from our summer house; these will be displayed throughout August. Each leaf is a fitting tribute and celebration of the life of someone who is special to you.

“The treatment was so pleasant and they have the time to look after the patients and they take that time as well. It’s the worst time in my life but I only have good memories of this place.”

Tony Whalley, whose wife Maggie died in the hospice.

Your kind donations will help to provide local people with life limiting illnesses and their families with dedicated care, love and support. Our aim is to make every precious moment together an occasion to treasure. For example, recently, while a patient’s family were visiting from Ireland, the ward staff organised a party for her granddaughter’s 8th Birthday with balloons, banners and cake. This meant a lot to them all to be able to celebrate and spend quality time together.

We will be holding a Garden of Memories service at the hospice on Wednesday 10th August 2022 and would love you to come along. If you are able to attend, please contact us on 01228 810801 If you would prefer to visit separately, please let us know and we are happy to arrange this for you.
