POSTPONED - Lantern Walk
Start Time: 21:00:00
Location: Carlisle Racecourse, Durdar Rd, Carlisle CA2 4TS
Update 18.05.2020 - We would like to remind all supporters that our Carlisle Lantern Walk, which was scheduled to take place on Friday 5 June, is currently postponed indefinitely.
Like many event organisers, we are awaiting more information, advice and timelines from the government in relation to hosting mass participation events. The health and wellbeing of all fundraisers, volunteers and staff is paramount during these challenging and uncertain times.
As a charity, we are unable to commit to any event organisation costs until we have a clearer understanding and can definitely confirm if the event will be taking place.
We will continue to provide supporters with updates as and when circumstances change around the Carlisle Lantern Walk. If you have any questions about the Carlisle Lantern Walk or any other events please contact the Fundraising Team on 01228 810801 or email email@example.com
Each glowing lantern moving around the city streets will represent the memory of loved ones no longer with us and to support the hospice to care for those living with a life limiting illness. With two routes to choose from, 6 miles and 2 miles, this poignant memorial event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Whilst the 6 mile route lights up the streets and landmarks of Carlisle the 2 mile route will take people gtom Carlisle Racecourse to the hospice and back again.
6 mile route – route to be announced
2 mile route – route to be announced
If you choose to, you can leave your lantern in the grounds at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw as we illuminate the entrance to the hospice with thousands of precious memories.
Please Note - All lanterns used at the Hospice Lantern Walk are battery operated and will be carried/held by fundraisers during the duration of the event.
Your registration fee covers all costs involved in administering your places as well as provding you with your t-shirt, lantern and your finishes medal. Please find below entry costs:
Adult (18+) £20
Young Adult (16-17) £15

As your fundraising is so important to local patients and their families, we suggest a minimum donation/sponsorship of £50 per adult participant. We really enocurage you to gain sponsorship for greater amounts where possible, this would ensure that we are able to continue to grow and develop the support offered here at the hospice.
