Its back!

Following the success of our first ever dog walking challenge, the Hound Hike in 2021, it's returning this June so dogs all over Cumbria get ready to take part and support your local hospice.

The Hound Hike is the paw-fect event for dogs of all sizes and ages as you choose your target distance to walk during the month. Whether you enjoy 50km, 100km or 150km of beautiful walks during June, every paw print and wag of the tail will support local people with life limiting illnesses.

Every walk will count!

From your early morning walk around the block to a long stroll in the park with your canine friends, every time you venture out with your humas you can raise vital funds. So don’t shy away from being a wet dog and get outside come rain, shine or anything else the Cumbrian weather throws at you!

Whether you are a Cocker Spaniel from Carlisle, a Papillon from Penrith or a Whippet from Workington, every dog can have their day and support local people with life limiting illnesses at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.

Registration is FREE for the Hound Hike, however we are asking every dog and human team to pledge to raise £50 to help local children and adults with life limiting illnesses.

What do me and my human get?

Every four-legged fundraiser receive will receive a free limited edition doggy doo-bag dispenser whilst your owner will receive an Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw snood. Plus, the hospice will be there to support you throughout your journey.

How do I sign up?

Below you will see the option to 'sign up on Facebook' or 'sign up online'. If you have an account you will be able to sign up via Facebook, all your fundraising can then take place via the Facebook Fundraisers feature. You will also be able to join our Hound Hike Facebook group through which we can then provide updates, as well as you being able to engage and post about your dog's journey throughout the month with fellow fundraisers.

By signing up online you can fundraise in whatever way works for you, whether this be with paper sponsor forms or a JustGiving page for example. You won't be able to join our Facebook group but we will still continue to update you throughout the month with several email campaigns.
