NEW Route and ‘Relay’ option!

Experience the Lake District from a new viewpoint with family, friends and colleagues! 

Challenge yourself in the great outdoors during an action-packed day of fundraising.

After the successes of the previous three years, test yourself in 2025 in the great outdoors with Ullswater and Helvellyn providing a stunning backdrop to your challenge. During the day you will cycle, canoe and hike a new to 2025 route amongst the northern reaches of the beautiful Lake District to raise vital funds for your local hospice. 


Step One: Know what to expect 

BIKES You will cycle a total of 34km (20 miles) of undulating elevation around Dockray, Dacre and along the edge of the stunning shores of Ullswater. 

BOATS Grab a paddle and canoe a 3km (2 mile) route on stunning Ullswater. It will take teamwork to complete this element, as you paddle as part of two connected canoe boats, creating a stable craft to keep your team together. 

BOOTS Trek to the summit of the third highest peak in England (elevation of 1031m), the magnificent Helvellyn. A 17km (10.5 miles) round trip will reward you with incredible views across the Lake District to take in your achievement. 


Step Two: Organise your Team

Whatever the size of your team, we can guarantee a brilliant day of adventure!

Bikes Boats Boots ‘All-in’ Team – As a team of 2 or 4, you will participate in each stage, working together to support each other to complete this incredible challenge, while raising vital funds to support local families. 

NEW FOR 2025!

Fancy working as a relay team in this years challenge? Join our ‘Relay2’ or ‘Relay4’ and have the option for teams of 4-12 people who will tag team their way around the course.

‘Relay2’ – In a group of 4-6 people, there will be 2 of your team on each full stage of the course and tagging each other in at basecamp in Glenridding.  You must have 2 on the course at all times, though how you choose to split the route is up to you.

‘Relay4’ – In a team of 6-12 people there will be 4 of your team on each full stage of the course, tagging each other in at basecamp in Glenridding. You must have 4 on the course at all times, though how you choose to split the route is up to you.

What do you need?

All you really need is the drive and determination to be a part of an epic day of fundraising for local families.  

A full kit list of essential and recommended items (weather dependant) will be provided, and if you need to hire a bike we can provide assistance using the experts at Cyclewise who provide support on the day.  

We will provide you with:
  • T-shirt for taking part 
  • Medal and Complimentary glass of bubbles when you finish to mark your epic achievement 
  • Meal to refuel after the event 
  • Expert guidance and technical support throughout the day 
  • Snacks and water back at basecamp to allow you to refuel in the transitions.  
  • A great sense of pride, knowing your dedication to your fundraising and training has provided a family with compassionate care and support, at a time when they need it most.  

Ahead of the day:
  • Welcome pack with guidance for event 
  • Full support in your fundraising to reach your team targets- Link to JG page, sponsor forms and guidance 
  • 2 weeks out- health and safety briefing covering all the FAQ’s and last-minute questions you may have.  

On the day- What to expect?  

From our event basecamp in Glenridding will have an early start with the morning larks will see you set off on your first stage- the cycle. Setting off in stages you will undertake a 34km cycle (average time 3hrs) which will take you out of Glenridding through Dockray, round to Dacre and back down to return along the glorious shores of Ullswater.  

A quick transition will then see your team of 2 or 4 head out onto the lake, to paddle approx. 3km (course weather dependent) to take in new views of our glorious lakes.  

A final transition will see you lace up your boots and grab some snacks before you begin to ascend the formidable Helvellyn, returning to a welcome worthy of you, our hospice hero for food, fizz and celebrations for your incredible achievements.  

Invite family and friends to support throughout the day from basecamp in Glenridding, and to celebrate with you at the end of the day!
