"In late 1984 I became very interested in the hospice movement and started looking into what was involved. In 1985 I lost a dear friend and Godmother to our son, Jean Spouge, from cervical cancer, she was just 38.

It is with regret that, after full review of the NHS guidelines and in consultation with other healthcare providers, we have taken the decision to suspend our Adult Day Hospice and Children’s Hospice. Our Adult In Patient Unit, offering round the clock care, will remain open.

A local woman will be racing around the streets of Newcastle on Sunday 13 September to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice.
