When people find out they are coming to Eden Valley Hospice they often feel nervous, apprehensive and uncertain about what will happen when they arrive. Finding out that you are going to a hospice during a global pandemic can be a daunting prospect for anybody and any family.
A local man is calling on the local community to safeguard the future of a Carlisle based hospice as the coronavirus situation continues to impact their fundraising efforts.
A hospice fundraiser braved stormy weather and the challenges of lockdown to complete a 1,000 mile fundraising walk to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice.
This September a local fundraiser will be completing the Great North Run in their garden to help the care, support and activities provided at Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
The recent Great Barn Sale at Out of Eden has raised £2,000 to help the care, support and activities provided to local people at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
This summer a local hospice doctor will be completing 40 runs in 11 weeks as she raises money to help the care, support and activities provided at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
For almost 30 years, the gardens at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice have provided a place of enjoyment, relaxation and calm for patients, families, staff and volunteers at the local charity.
Staff and volunteers at a Carlisle based hospice have been overwhelmed with donations from the local community to help with the re-opening of their charity shops.
Throughout June, the eleven trustees from Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice set themselves an ambitious challenge to walk, run, ride, cycle, and even canoe, 300 miles – the distance of the boundary line of Cumbria – to raise money for the hospice.
