Costa volunteer to help the Hospice decorate.
During December a group of volunteers from Costa helped transform the hospice and hosted a coffee morning during two days of volunteering.
On Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 December a team of employees from Costa travelled from around the UK to volunteer at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice. During the two days of volunteering they helped to transform the Sensory Room Butterfly Room and fundraising office at the hospice.
Along with volunteering the representatives from Costa hosted a coffee morning to coincide with the launch of the hospice’s new Costa machine.
Emily Foulkes, Business Development Manager – Convenience Costa Express, said “We were delighted to be able to help at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. From the moment we first visited, the passion and care of all of the teams was infectious and we were keen to support. It’s testament to the team that the atmosphere is so warm and friendly and helped to eradicate any preconceptions we had about what a hospice is.
“We are so happy to be able to help and improve the environment for all who attend the hospice and the amazing team of staff and volunteers who are so passionate and caring. Each makes the hospice such a warm place to be for all who are resident and visit considering the sensitivity of many situations. A true testament to you all.”
Throughout the year a host of people, community groups and businesses donate their time to help Eden Valley Hospice a Jigsaw in a variety of different ways. From helping the volunteers and staff maintain the gardens to collecting donation from the local community, people are able to make a huge difference to the lies of adults and children with life limiting illnesses.
Laura Cadman, Head of Support Services, said “We are extremely grateful to those who choose to volunteer at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, each person makes a huge contribution to the everyday running and success of the work that happens here. Both individual volunteers and corporate volunteer groups bring a wide range of skills, enthusiasm and we welcome support in all aspects of the work we undertake.
“The Costa team have worked extremely hard to help us deliver some fabulous work and improve our environments, Thank you to the team for their hard work and dedication to the hospice and we look forward to welcoming them back next year.”
